Hypothesis:
Bodies, souls, movement and transformation create the entry point to a space of temporal existence. it is a space that imagines a world of symbols, emotions and meaning. Maybe they are a projection of an ancient humanity that has been or shall be real.
A supplication against the dehumanising effects of the ‘technic’ world, clinging onto the world of ‘magic’ to escape the horrors of the present world at the end of its existence.
The ripples of the cine-space-psyche go deep and shallow__The spirit of the times will tell the moon the direction of the ripples. We have to prepare for those waves of ripples that seem small from afar, but by the time they hit our floating bodies, we will feel the force of the push. And the pull into the deep-dark-depths will be of high magnitude.

I need to research:
- Schizophrenia - psychic fragmentation, a mode of editing, a mode of storytelling
- cine expandido - temporal worlds and cosmologies
- performance - ritual and shamanism
- Jungian psychology - the collective unconscious, dreams and symbols
- The spectator - becoming immersed in a non existent existence
- colonial histories - the violence, visceral and corporeal
- Aluk to Dolo, Bissu, and other ancestral practices that include dual feminine and masculine identity that takes the form of a androgynous body that becomes the passage to a world of the past and the future, a constellation of memories -> OSCAR
Cinematic disposition: dark room, projection, immobilised spectator resembles hypnosis. Cinema produces a state similar to dreaming or trance where the viewer’s critical consciousness is lowered.

Reflections on the discourse of:
EXPANDED CINEMA

Materialised.
The meaning of expanded cinema and the meaning of cine expandido seem to be the same. Yet, the meanings have different connotations. Expandido frequently refers to a specific technical process, such as "poliestireno expandido" (EPS/Styrofoam) or "metal expandido" (expanded metal mesh). In these contexts, it implies a material that has been physically altered to become porous or textured, rather than just simply "larger."1
We become one with an unfolding world around us, which is the delicate frabrication of the artist and performer. A fragile and temporal materialisation of the projection.
A threshold,
a portal of time,
vibrations,
soundscapes,
pain,
visceral and corporeal,
The projection, the audience and my body become one, material in space and time. The cine: the moving images fill the space as a form of light. Enchanting light. My body is the shadow, a trace of my body being present in the images of the projection. The art of cine expandido is to enter the cosmovision of the projection without rejection. A total surrender.
Open filmMaybe cine expandido is a film that is literally open, like an open body.
But an open body is very sensitive.
When I perform, I am a performance artist.
I become the vessel.
Like a Shaman.
But the Shaman has to be strong to hold the space.
The audience need to be guided, they are more fragile then in the cinema.
Maybe the cine expandido is a form of shamanism.
A way of collectively bodily and psychologically traveling through space and time.

Ancestral Islands
Why the earth of ancestry is about to convince the idea that order and chaos is a capitulation of the very beginning and the very end. Misconception of the essence of life, the lie of everything that we call reality, which cannot be...
The grain of the image is the soul
We have forgotten to sing for our mother.
Ik word er stil van.
I cannot sing.
My mother doesn’t sing for me either.
Not anymore.
I’ve been abandoned.
The grain of the image is the soul
At first it annoys me. It’s a distraction from the image... moving closer... the grain becomes more and more evident. It is the dust settling the space. The light captures that which floats through space. They are particles and the particles are more than dust. The question came to me in a dream. The answer lies here in the image, in the millimeters of the image... the grain.
Maybe the grain is dust of souls, of many souls transferring the force of life to another life, to another object, to another plant and tree. The dust of souls is a gift of time, for time is ending for every soul. So the force of dust stretches the force of life into becoming dust.... note: Read Michael Marder on Dust.
A performance becoming the ritual
- the passage of blood in the threshold of the joint
I see a spirit in my pants.
I see eyes, head and arms and legs.
The spirit is already fading.
Evaporating,
I can feel it when I touch it.
The red of the blood is turning to dark brown,
disappearing in the deep blue.
The blade of my Golok pierced my right knee, on the patella. It happened during the performance. It was my first strike on the tree, but the tree was so easy to cut that the force made the blade go down into my knee, which then turned the performative demonstration of the colonial history into an embodied ritual of this same history.
An open wound is an open body.
My ancestors came that night.
They grew out of the hole in my knee,
passing through the threshold of my blood,
my heritage.
It was a sign of the times,
the times unfinished.
A residue.
Painted in blood,
A bloody spirit.
A performance becoming the ritual
The Dutch don’t look at
the forest.
00:35:00:09 - 00:35:03:09
They look through the forest.
00:35:04:18 - 00:35:07:18
Their eyes have reached too far.
00:35:07:24 - 00:35:10:15
They were too tall.
00:35:10:15 - 00:35:13:15
They still are.
00:35:13:21 - 00:35:16:14
With their heads in the sky.
They don’t see the ants moving.
00:35:20:24 - 00:35:23:23
They cannot see the forest.
00:35:24:12 - 00:35:28:11
Which means they also cannot see
a forest becoming a forest.
00:35:33:13 - 00:35:36:01
They see the weeds growing.
00:35:38:13 - 00:35:42:07
And weeds will be exterminated.

The shadow of the depth, the eye from the unconscious looking back - a mirror of the archetypes. Reference to Carl Gustav Jung.
I’m becoming death itself.
I can see it in my eyes.
I look sick.
