Tosca Schift is an artist working with film, performance, objects and drawings in cinematic constellations. By braiding together ancestral lore, dreams and observations, her work sets different worldviews in tension with one another: holding visions of life, death, nature and the sacred, and their unravelling under forces of power.
Schift’s training spans crafting and sculpting objects, filmmaking and artistic research. She works close to the body as a conductor and receiver of forces and knowledge, turns to material as a carrier of memory, and to the camera as a means of capturing what lies beyond conscious perception.
