Tosca Schift is a Dutch visual artist whose practice spans video art, installation, performance and expended cinema. She creates experiences that explore the visceral body, multidimensionality of spaces, time and ancestry - addressing theme’s of identity, heritage and spirituality. Through a method of spiritual searching, Schift illuminates and unfolds the complexities of her colonial family history, while in parallel, reflecting on its broader sociopolitical manifestations.

Schift completed the Master of Film: Artistic Research in and Through Cinema succeeding her bachelor in Product Design. Schift’s hands-on making background nurtured a sensitive approach towards the materiality of life. And shaped the way she works with the camera-body, spatial perception, moving images and archival material.s
